How the Updater WorksThe YG Updater gathers different game statistics (e.g. item drop statistics and NPC locations), and periodically uploads that data to our server. The server will then process them in batches, and the processed data is added to our live pages within 2-8 minutes.Using the YG Updater, you can contribute a lot of useful information to our database and see the results in real time. Here are a few fun examples of what you can do with the YG Updater:
Usage GuideTo use the YG Updater and submit information to the database, all you have to do is run the application before selecting your character.IMPORTANT: When the Updater is in sync with your current server, a message saying should appear in the Console section of the Updater. If you do not see this message after you leave the character select screen while logging in, that means that the Updater did not sync successfully, and you will have to re-sync. To attempt a re-sync, go back to the character select screen by logging out of the game, and reselect your character. If the re-sync is successful, the message should appear. |
The YG Updater window has three main sections:
Track Your Stats
Upon loading the Updater, the first thing you should do is to save your YG Members account name in the text field found in this section. This will allow us to track what kind of data and how much data you've uploaded to the database. Your YG Members account password is not required to track your stats. You can view our network stats page here.
To clear your YG Member name and disable stat tracking, click on the button while the text box is empty.
Session Statistics
In this section, there is a list of the different kinds of data that the Updater gathers. Beside the types of data are text boxes that display how much of those kinds of data have been gathered during that particular session. These statistics will be reset to zero when you exit the Updater. 
Console
This section displays a real-time list of the data you gather. You can clear the contents of the Console section by clicking the Clear Console button at the bottom-right of the window. 
Updating the Updater
If a newer version of the Updater is available, the Updater will detect it upon launch and download the newest version automatically..
Security / Privacy
The YG Updater has only one function: to gather helpful game-related information for the gaming community. It does not interact with nor alter the game client in any way, so running the updater does not put your account at risk. We do not gather any information about you or you account, nor do we have any key logging or malicious code in our application.
Reporting Bugs
The more information we receive about any bugs that you encounter, the quicker we will be able to squash them. That said, please report any problems you have with the YG Updater, and make sure to include the following information:
- Your computer's operating system (OS) and how much Memory it has
- What you were doing in game when the problem occurred
- If you can reproduce the bug (i.e. intentionally make it happen again), include instructions on how to do so.
